INDIANAPOLIS — The debate on redistricting will continue Wednesday in the Senate with a final vote expected by Thursday.

Monday night, some Republicans on the Senate Elections Committee who voted to pass the bill on to the next step said they reserved the right to change their vote later this week during the final vote in the Senate.

Tuesday, senators adopted the report from the Elections Committee, a process that lasted only minutes.

Monday, lawmakers on that committee spent several hours hearing testimony from close to 130 Hoosiers about redistricting and the proposed map. Some were for it and some were against it.

The redistricting bill passed out of the Elections Committee by a vote of 6-3.
