LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Holiday shoppers are making their lists and checking them twice, but the cost of covering everything remains a key concern this season.
“Overall the Christmas shopping, the holiday shopping, is going pretty well,” said Anthony Saglimbene, chief market strategist for Ameriprise Financial.
While inflation rates remain high, Saglimbene said consumers could see more forgiving discounts from major retailers in the weeks ahead.
“Because they know they want to get that traffic through the door,” he said.
In-person shopping has made a comeback for some consumers like Steve Proctor, who said it’s a more convenient way to buy.
“We got into the first store and I got everything done,” Proctor said.
