RUTHERFORD COUNTY, N.C. —

A months-long investigation in Rutherford County, North Carolina, has come to an end, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of a significant amount of drugs.

For several months, the Tri-City Violent Crimes Task Force, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have been investigating Robert Karon McEntire, also known as "Slay," and Harold Lee Ballard, also known as "Chop."

Authorities said McEntire and Ballard have been under investigation for conspiring to traffick large amounts of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana.
