The bell and battle honours of HMS Northumberland have a new home after the ship was decommissioned. Hundreds of people queued for hours to take a look around HMS Northumberland when it returned to Tyneside in January 2024.

And now, they will be able to see the retired ship's bell and battle honours in their new home at County Hall in Morpeth. The type 23 frigate of the Royal Navy, named after the Duke of Northumberland , was designed for anti-submarine warfare but was also used for security patrols, escort duties and anti-piracy missions.

It spent time in the North Atlantic, North Sea and Arctic Circle as recently as 2023, but last year the Government announced the ship would be decommissioned as
