A woman with family ties to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is returning home to Massachusetts after nearly a month in custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Bruna Ferreira, the mother of Leavitt's nephew, has been released from ICE custody after an immigration judge approved her for bond .

Ferreira was arrested by ICE agents outside her home in Revere on Nov. 12. Initially taken to Vermont , she was then transferred to a Louisiana detention center. The mother of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt's nephew is in ICE custody in Louisiana after being detained in Massachusetts.

Her attorney, Todd Pomerleau, described the conditions she endured and the toll the detention too
