As we near the end of 2025, Boston officials touted their work on the basics.
Mayor Michelle Wu and members of her administration highlighted a busy year of constituent services at a news conference Tuesday.

"You can't fake it," Wu said. "The details are what matter."
The mayor and her team emphasized work on potholes, streetlights and the ongoing rat fight.
"We resurfaced 50 miles of roadway this year," said Nicholas Gove, the city's interim chief of streets.
"Our team has upgraded over 2,500 fixtures," said Street Lighting and Asset Manager Michael Donaghy.
"We've responded to almost 6,000 rodent-related 311 complaints," said Director of Operations Dion Irish.
