ALLEN PARK — The injury bug has bitten the Detroit Lions’ defense for the second year in a row, and with a heavyweight fight against quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams on tap for this Sunday, we’re all waiting to see whether the defense can continue to survive in the absence of cornerback Terrion Arnold (shoulder), safety Brian Branch (Achilles) and potentially safety Kerby Joseph (knee). It’s the second season in a row that Detroit’s defense has been dealt significant attrition. The Lions lost more than half their defensive starters for stretches of last season, missing players at every level, but specifically, the front seven.
