The UFC has a new Canadian on the roster.
Former Bellator lightweight fighter Lance Gibson Jr. is set to make his UFC debut on Saturday vs. King Green on UFC Fight Night: Royval vs. Kape, according to Sportsnet’s Aaron Bronsteter.
Gibson Jr., who hails from Port Moody, B.C., joins the roster with a professional record of 9-1 with six first-round finishes. However, he last fought on March 31, 2023 in a losing effort to Vladimir Tokov.
Gibson Jr. enters the UFC not only as the next Canadian, but also completes just the third father-son duo to compete in the promotion. Lance Gibson Sr. fought twice in the UFC, holding a record of 1-1. Gibson Sr. was 1-2 overall in his pro career.
His last fight was on Dec. 16, 2000 at UFC 29, making it nearly 25 years to the day that Gibson Jr. will make
