Darius McCrary walked out of a California jail Monday after spending two months behind bars and entering a no-contest plea to five felony charges.
The 49-year-old actor, best known for his role on the sitcom “Family Matters,” now awaits sentencing in February, Page Six reports.
Authorities took McCrary into custody in October near the U.S.-Mexico border in California on an out-of-state warrant, the publication noted. He remained in a San Diego jail without bail until Monday’s court hearing. The warrant stemmed from Michigan, where McCrary failed to appear at a court date connected to unpaid child support.
His public defender, Paulette Loftin, defended the actor’s actions in a statement to TMZ .
