ROME, Ga. — Georgia State Sen. Colton Moore has announced he will run for Congress in Georgia's 14th district.

Moore shared the news on social media Monday , declaring that "the time for action is now!"

The seat will be come vacant in next month after Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said her last day in the position would be Jan. 5. Greene has clashed in recent months with her own Republican party, including President Donald Trump.

After Greene's announced, Moore expressed his strong interest in running for the soon-to-be vacant U.S. House seat.
