ATLANTA — Martin Luther King Jr.'s son, Martin Luther King III, says it is "beyond disappointing" that the National Park Service next year will drop free entry days on the MLK Holiday in honor of his father as the agency instead makes President Donald Trump's birthday a free-entry day.

The Associated Press reported over the weekend on the new list of free admission days at National Park Service-administered sites, which no longer includes MLK Day or Juneteenth but will include President Trump's birthday (which is also Flag Day, and is also acknowledged on the park service site).
