Applications for dual citizenship in the United States are skyrocketing.

Most applicants are U.S.-born citizens, who by ancestry, can also claim citizenship in another country.

A bill by Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno aims to halt the practice.

The Exclusive Citizenship Act of 2025 would strip Americans of their legal status in this country if they are granted dual citizenship in another country.

Legislative analysts said the bill faces an uphill battle, but given the current political climate, even the idea has some deeply worried.
