Tuesday marked the first full day of testimony in the San Francisco murder trial of a man accused of killing another man affectionately known to his family and friends as “Grandpa Vicha.”
Antoine Watson, 24, was 19 when he allegedly attacked 84-year-old Vicha Ratanapakdee in the city’s Anza Vista neighborhood. Ratanapakdee later died.
Testimony on Tuesday started with the first two San Francisco police officers who arrived on scene after neighbors found Ratanapakdee unconscious following the attack. The officers mostly described what they found when they arrived on scene. They also described neighborhood security camera video, their body camera videos, and pictures of Ratanapakdee that they took at the scene and in the hospital.
