The Hartselle City Council voted on Tuesday to legalize alcohol sales on Sundays. Alcohol can now be purchased every day of the week in Hartselle.

"How can we tell you that you can't do something on Sunday that you can do on Saturday or any other day of the week," said City Councilman Chuck Gill during Tuesday's meeting.

According to the ordinance, sales of alcohol are not permitted between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. every day in Hartselle.

The motion passed with no opposing votes.
