ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Angelina County commissioners unanimously approved a full-time role for the district attorney’s office at Tuesday’s meeting.
The two existing part-time assistant district attorney positions will be consolidated into one full-time position. The county will combine the salaries.
Angelina County District Attorney Amy Wren said the remote part-time role will be eliminated. The full-time assistant district attorney will work in the office. The employee will begin full-time after the new year.
“We had a huge backlog of 600 to 700 cases when I came into office for grand jury,” Wren said. “It was really important we had someone who was doing that, kind of exclusively. We are on track to pretty much be caught up on that by the end of the year and have worked to tr
