SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Siouxland Wrestling Academy students raised around $3,000 with a Bingo fundraiser to provide gifts to veterans this holiday season.

Every year, the Siouxland Wrestling Academy hosts a community service event to teach the kids about the importance of giving back to their community.

Twelve veterans and two surviving spouses will get presents this year.

The presents are wrapped by the kids.

Parents believe it’s important for their children to show support for their community.

“It’s important for them to kind of learn the history of everything. And, it just helps them figure things out when it comes to how we live the way that we do,“ said Jesse Noreen, U.S. Air Force.
