Communities in 10 northeast Indiana counties will receive more than $15 million in matching funds for road and bridge projects, state officials announced Tuesday.
Gov. Mike Braun, Matt Ubelhor, secretary of transportation and infrastructure, and Lyndsay Quist, Indiana Department of Transportation commissioner, announced $100 million in funding to 191 cities, towns and counties, a news release said.
“When we invest in roads and bridges through these Community Crossings grants, we’re helping communities attract new jobs, support Main Street businesses, and enhance quality of life for Hoosier families,” Braun said in a statement.
The Community Crossings grants are more limited now. The matching funds have typically been awarded twice a year, and the awards have been capped at $1.5 million.
