BLOOMINGTON – Indiana hit as many as 10 3-pointers in a game twice as a team last season.
Lamar Wilkerson did it by himself Tuesday against Penn State.
After shooting 5 for 23 from beyond the arc over the previous three games, Wilkerson set an IU single-game record, becoming the first Hoosier to hit double-digit 3s in a game on the way to scoring an Assembly Hall-record 44 points as IU annihilated the Nittany Lions 113-72.
"Hoop looked big as the ocean today, man," Wilkerson said. "So I was just throwing it up there and it just happened to go in."
It was the first Big Ten victory for Hoosiers coach Darian DeVries, whose team improved to 8-2 overall and 1-1 in league play. The victory snapped a two-game losing streak.
Wilkerson went 10 for 15 from beyond the arc, breaking the IU single
