Fire crews were sent to the 2200 block of Avon Road in Haverford Township on Tuesday about 8:15 p.m. on the report of smoke in a house.

Soon, there was reportedly a fire at the rear of the house, and that was confirmed when crews arrived, according to Delaware County fire radio traffic.

Personnel also reported that the fire had gotten into the roof and an aerial truck was needed. The incident soon developed into a full-blown structure fire dispatch.

About 20 minutes into the fire, the on-scene chief reported two lines in service and water on the fire. Crews opened up the roof.

The scene remained active at 9 p.m., and further details were not yet available.
