LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - East Lansing boys basketball held on to win 73-58 over Lansing Sexton on Tuesday night at Don Johnson Fieldhouse in downtown Lansing.
Sexton, the home team, moved the game to Don Johnson to accommodate the large crowd on hand to watch the reigning Division 1 state champions, East Lansing, take on the J-Dubbs, quarterfinalists last season in Division 2.
East Lansing looked dominant in the first half and grew its lead to over 20 points in the early second half. But Sexton fought back late, cutting the lead to seven in the fourth quarter before the Trojans regained control and won by 15.
Senior guard Kelvin “KJ” Torbert led all scorers with 25 points, while junior guard Kingston “KT” Thomas added 23 points for the Trojans.
