AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The West Texas High Comanches are one of two Panhandle teams still pursuing a state title this football season in 2-A Division I, and they are doing it in historic fashion.
The Comanches remain unbeaten in the 2025 football campaign, which is history in itself for West Texas High. After a 48-22 victory against Cisco last Friday, the Comanches improved their record to 14-0 for the season.
With that win, WT High ended a 29-year drought and advanced to the state semifinals, marking one of the program’s biggest postseason runs in school history.
Coach emphasizes preparation and focus
Head coach Jeff Smith said his team understands the excitement of continuing in the season while recognizing that each game at this time of year is vital.
