DONIPHAN, Neb. (KSNB) - The Doniphan-Trumbull wrestling team has been building for a few seasons now.

Two years ago, they brought home their first individual state championships in school history while finishing 12th as a team. Last year, they had a strong season with five state qualifying wrestlers while finishing 15th as a team.

This year’s team is looking to continue building off past success.

One key for the Cardinals are their two returning state qualifiers.

Hayden Smith and Riley Bishop were key contributors for the Cardinals last year as juniors, with Bishop finishing sixth at 120 pounds. Now, as seniors, they know the work they have to put in to achieve their goals.
