BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Tuesday night local leaders and community members in Belfast gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open Family Harbor House.
It’s a brand-new transitional housing unit designed specifically for families experiencing homelessness.
This is the latest project from the Midcoast Maine Homeless Coalition, and it’s focused on giving families a safe place to land while they work toward permanent, stable housing.
Family Harbor House will welcome its first residents in just a few weeks.
Starting January 3rd, the doors will open to two families, with plans to add two more families roughly three weeks later.
