PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- We are getting a new look at the future of the historic Wanamaker Building.
New renderings show the owners, TF Cornerstone (TFC) , want to divide the former Macy's space on the first three floors into several smaller retail spaces. There would be new entrances to the shopping area in the north and south sections of the 12-story building.
Proposals submitted to the Philadelphia Historical Commission also call for a new rooftop bar, on top of the building near City Hall. Earlier this summer, TFC said it was planning to convert a majority of the upper floors into loft apartments.
The building, including the Grand Court and the organ, are protected, and the changes must be approved by the Philadelphia Historical Commission.
