Mother of 3 found dead after raging fire in Philadelphia rowhome on North Lambert Street

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A mother of three was found dead after a devastating fire erupted in a Philadelphia rowhome late Tuesday morning.

Action News has learned the victim was found on the second floor. She has not yet been identified by officials, but family and neighbors said the woman killed was 70-year-old Denise Green.

"I just can't believe it. This is just a tragic thing for the whole community," said Andre Jones, who lives nearby.

"It's so devastating for her and her kids," added Brenda Talley, who has known Green for decades.

The flames were reported around 11 a.m. in the 5700 block of North Lambert Street.

Chopper 6 was over the scene as heavy smoke and flames billowed from the home.

"That fire - it was crazy. I've never seen anything like that," said Talley, who called 911
