MANCHESTER, N.H. —
President Donald Trump hosted an event in Pennsylvania Tuesday night to address concerns over the economy and affordability.
Trump said his administration is lowering prices and addressing what he called a problem caused by Democrats.
"They say affordability, and everyone says, 'Oh, that must mean Trump has high prices.' No, our prices are coming down tremendously," he said.
Political analysts said last month's elections favored Democrats, and so Trump's strategy is likely to convince Americans that his economic plan is working.
Inflation is running at 3% annually, up from 2.3% in April when Trump rolled out tariffs.
