Staphylococcus aureus and E. Coli could be among the bacteria on your screen

A biomedical science specialist has warned that one common everyday item is often a hotbed for germs - and you probably touch it constantly. Dr Gareth Nye, lecturer at the University of Salford , said the risk especially heightens when it's taken into bathrooms, due to exposure to faecal particles .

Speaking to the Mirror , he said: " Phone screens are a huge source of disease spread, especially if you use them in the bathroom as well. The clearest example would be having your phone sitting on top of the toilet when you flush.
