ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The City of Ellensburg is launching an innovative project to improve internet access for nearly 500 unserved rural homes northwest of the city, the Department of Commerce announced.
The Fiber Extension and Fixed Wireless Broadband project is supported by grant funding from the Broadband Infrastructure Program , along with a local match.
The project will provide homes along the fiber route with speeds up to 1 Gbps. Meanwhile, fixed wireless will offer a minimum of 50 Mbps.
