A 'surprising' common' burglary tactic has been revealed by Coventry police after thieves struck at a home. They say that lock snapping is a method being used by thieves to get into patio doors.
The Bablake policing team said that the tactic is silent, unlike smashing a window. The team have urged locals to install extra security to protect their homes.
It comes after thieves got into the back garden of a home in Barnfield Avenue. 'They used a lock snapping device or crowbar to try and force a rear patio door," the team reported.
