U13 Crush golden in St. Thomas

The Chatham Kent Crush won the U13 C championship at the Panthers on the Prowl girls hockey tournament Sunday in St. Thomas.

Brinley Nurse backstopped the Crush to a 2-1 win over the Lambeth Lancers in the final.

Riley Goodall scored twice in a 4-1 semifinal win over the London Devilettes. Harper Copeland and Frankie Griffiths added singles.

The Crush went 2-1-0 in pool play, starting with a 1-0 loss in which the Lancers scored with 1:30 left in the third period.

Copeland scored two goals, Taylor Tuinstra had one and the Crush allowed only three shots in a 3-0 win over the Woodstock Wildcats.

Nurse posted the shutout in a 2-0 win over the Devilettes.
