Growing up in Fall River, Cooper Long didn't play youth football.
That all changed when he was approached by his father Daniel. As a freshman, Long tried out for Durfee football and made the team. From there, his love for the game and skill level grew each year.
"I wasn't very good as a freshman, I'll be honest," Long said. "I was bigger than everyone else, which made it easier, but I was never amazing, obviously. It was more like I love the ability to have that contact in sports. I'm a physical person when it comes to sports, so it helps translate my athletic ability."
