COLUMBUS, Neb. —
Deputies say an Oklahoma man was not hurt after crash landing a plane in a Nebraska field Tuesday.
The Platte County Sheriff's Office says Cody Hawkins, 46, was flying from the Norfolk Regional Airport to Ponca City, Oklahoma, around 1 p.m. when the plane's engine lost power. Hawkins used the plane's Airframe Parachute System to land safely in an open field in Columbus.
The pilot and a passenger were evaluated at the scene but were not hurt. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
