It didn't take long for Harding's joy to turn into disappointment last week.

The Bisons stampeded their way past Texas-Permian Basin 34-28 last Saturday in a tough NCAA Division II quarterfinal matchup at First Security Stadium in Searcy. It was the closest margin of victory all season for a Harding team that had been torpedoing opponents week after week.

That win also seemingly put the Bisons in position to host one of the two national semifinal games Saturday. But that notion was put to rest less than two hours after they knocked off the Falcons.

Instead of playing at home, Harding learned that it would be hitting the road to play fellow unbeaten Kutztown, Pa., which had beaten Frostburg (Md.) State 51-29 earlier in the day.
