Two X-ray machines have been stolen from Chiradzulu District Hospital, police have confirmed.

The district’s police chief, Henry Kalungu, said his office did not immediately receive the report due to a blame game at the hospital, even though the incident happened some time back.

Kalungu further revealed that the prime suspect, identified as Yamikani Mapapa from the hospital’s X-ray department, allegedly attempted to take his own life by consuming drugs but survived.

Police say they are waiting for the suspect to recover before continuing with their investigations.
