Chicago police shot and killed a man while investigating a stolen vehicle on the city's north side late Tuesday night, with a chaotic confrontation between the suspects and CPD leading to an officer being dragged by the car and one person fleeing the scene.

About 10:25 p.m., Chicago police tactical officers in the 5700 block of N. Washtenaw Ave. in Arcadia Terrace were conducting an investigation on a stolen sedan that was parked and unoccupied when another car pulled up alongside it.

Two men and a woman then exited the car and attempted to enter the stolen vehicle, authorities said, with officers approaching to investigate.

At that time, one of the men fled on foot, police said, while the other ran back into the car and got behind the wheel.
