AKRON, Ohio — Two people who were reportedly trapped in a second-floor apartment in Akron were rescued when firefighters responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night in the 100 block of E. South Street.
Heavy fire was reported when firefighters first arrived at the scene.
All other occupants who were inside the building had self-evacuated before crews made it to the scene, according to fire officials.
The Akron Fire Department says the flames were quickly extinguished.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
