When Philip Weintraub recorded a message for his son Jody to listen to on prom night, he could never have known that 37 years later, the Internet was listening in

But his daughter Ami tells PEOPLE that Philip was used to people hearing his voice, since he was a radio DJ for the Navy in the '60s and '70s

Now, Ami shares how she found the cassette tape with her dad's message on it and why she chose to put it on the Internet

The year is 1988 and it's prom night. As Jody Weintraub gets into his dad's car — borrowed for the evening — he turns the car on, only to hear his dad's voice streaming through the speakers.
