The Indianapolis Colts made headlines when they brought Philip Rivers out of retirement, but recent reports indicate the eight-time Pro Bowler wasn't their first choice. While Rivers was a great quarterback at the peak of his career, he hasn't played since 2020, and now, in his age-44 season, he probably won't ever recapture his previous form.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr retired in the offseason, but the Colts reportedly tried to bring him out of retirement. According to Armando Salguero of Outkick, Indianapolis made contact with the former second-round pick, but nothing came of the discussion.
