Merseyside Police have launched an appeal after man was caught stealing a recycling bin following an attempted burglary at a house in Wavertree . Police received reports that at around 3am on Sunday, November 30, a man carrying two bricks tried to open the front door of a house on Queens Drive.

The security light activated and the man dropped the bricks and walked down the path. He then grabbed the blue recycling bin belonging to the occupiers and have made off in the direction of Rocky Lane .

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect. Detectives have issued an image of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.
