TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Tallahassee firefighters rescued a dog from a house fire on Winters Run Wednesday morning, according to the Tallahassee Fire Department.
The incident transpired just before 8:40 a.m. after firefighters responded to the scene and found heavy fire coming from a two-story home, the fire department wrote in a press release Wednesday morning.
“Due to concerns of structural collapse, crews initiated a defensive attack, knocking down the fire from the exterior,” firefighters said.
During operations, crews rescued a dog by breaking a window and safely removing the dog from the home, per TFD.
Crews searched the home and confirmed there were no people inside at the time of the incident, the press release revealed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
