Major energy provider Octopus Energy now has a scheme which means customers get to pay no bills for up to 10 years. Launched back in 2022, the Zero Bills Scheme rewards green homes with no bills.

Octopus Energy aims to have 100,000 homes as part of the Zero Bills Scheme by 2030, and as long as people meet the criteria, they can join the scheme.

According to Octopus Energy, a Zero Bills home is a regular house with good insulation to make it energy-efficient, which is then fitted with solar panels, a heat pump, and a home battery. These technologies work together to power the home, and Octopus' tech platform, known as Kraken, manages it all to make sure the energy is used in the smartest way possible.
