Reducing business rates, cutting energy bills and lowering corporation tax are the principal measures the British public wish to see introduced to help small businesses – with 77% of adults believing they merit stronger support from government and local councils. A survey of 2,000 adults revealed that minimising bureaucracy, streamlining the tax system and decreasing National Insurance contributions are additional ways respondents believe would benefit small businesses and their high streets.
