ATLANTA, Ga. — More information about a Rome homicide surfaced during the two suspects’ first appearance in court on Wednesday morning.

Mystique Taylor, 23, and Rolanda Edwards, 25, face charges after 20-year-old Kaylee Shackelford’s body was found wrapped in blankets on Tuesday, according to Rome police.

The judge said Taylor stabbed the woman from Powell, Tennessee, in the face and neck and hit her in the head with a baseball bat.

Taylor was denied bond for the charges, which include two counts of felony murder, aggravated battery, reckless driving and concealing the death of another.

Meanwhile, Edwards was charged with being a party to a crime and concealing a death. The judge accused her of helping remove the body from her apartment.

She was released on a $5,000 bond and is banned
