Zach Ertz’s 2025 season is over.

The Washington Commanders confirmed that the veteran tight end has been placed on the injured reserve list. This news comes following his devastating knee injury in Week 14. An MRI confirmed that Ertz suffered a torn ACL in his right knee.

His injury came as a result of a brutal hit from Vikings safety Jay Ward late in the third quarter.

It was quite unfortunate for Ertz. He has been one of the most productive and durable players for Washington this season. Before his injury, he compiled 50 receptions for 504 yards and four touchdowns.

He made career moves by moving into fifth place on the NFL’s all-time receptions list for tight ends. Ertz currently has 825 career catches.
