GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island man will be sentenced in February for crimes committed six years ago.
Jeffrey Willson, 48, pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree sexual assault and third-degree sexual assault. A judge scheduled his sentencing hearing for Feb. 10.
He had been charged with second-offense, first-degree and third-degree sexual assault on a child. But he pleaded guilty to the lesser charges in a plea bargain.
Court records show Grand Island police investigated a child sexual assault that occurred in 2019 when Willson lived with the victim and her family.
The victim was younger than 12 at the time.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim’s mother called Willson in the presence of investigators, which led to enough evidence to make an arrest.
