Pete Alonso has agreed to terms with the Baltimore Orioles, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Tuesday afternoon. The deal is reportedly worth five years and $155 million.

Alonso was drafted by the Mets in the second round in 2016. In just seven seasons at the major league level, the Polar Bear placed himself among the pantheon of Mets greats, earning five All-Star selections, a Silver Slugger Award, a Rookie of the Year Award, a pair of Home Run Derby victories, and breaking Darryl Strawberry’s long-standing franchise home run record of 252. Since his debut, Alonso leads MLB by a wide margin with 712 RBI — a mark which ranks third in Mets history behind David Wright and Strawberry.
