New Delhi: The Delhi government has begun a significant infrastructure overhaul aimed at improving conditions in the Karala Kanjhawala region of Outer Delhi, an area that has long struggled with persistent flooding, broken footpaths and deteriorating civic amenities. The redevelopment focuses on Guru Golwalkar Marg, a busy corridor where residents have repeatedly raised concerns about waterlogging and unsafe pedestrian movement during the monsoon months.

The project covers the full stretch from Jain Nagar to Kanjhawala Chowk and extends further to the Mungeshpur drain. It is designed to upgrade storm water management and pedestrian infrastructure along both sides of the ten kilometre corridor.
