New Delhi: IndiGo faced another severe operational collapse on Wednesday as large-scale disruptions paralysed services across the country. The airline cancelled 137 flights from Delhi alone and nearly 220 nationwide, affecting major hubs such as Bengaluru, Mumbai and Hyderabad. The cancellations came despite the aviation regulator ordering a mandatory 10 per cent cut in IndiGo’s winter schedule in an attempt to stabilise operations that had already been under strain for more than a week.
The scale of the breakdown drew strong criticism during a hearing in the Delhi High Court, where judges questioned why authorities allowed the situation to deteriorate before stepping in.
