GREEN – The Akron-Canton Airport has revamped its sensory room, designed in partnership with the Wolff & Phan Autism Center, to provide a calming and interactive space for youth with sensory issues.

The room beside the Step2 play area on the concourse's second level was first introduced in 2020 in partnership with Kulture City to enhance the airport's accessibility and inclusion.

President and CEO Ren Camacho said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Dec. 10 that the "updated concept" continues to provide a place for travelers to take a break and now features a state-of-the-art game projector.

"The carefully curated design ensures a calming, safe and interactive environment, especially for our younger ones," Camacho said.
