KALADY: Chitrapriya's mother, Shini, and father, Shyju, had prepared a saree for her to participate in the Thalapoli procession for an event organised by the Ayyappa Seva Sangh in Mundangamattom. Chitra failed to arrive for the Thalapoli, which was to begin at 7.30 pm. The parents tried to contact her, but to no avail. The parents attended the event and returned home, but a shiver went through their bodies knowing that Chitra didn’t make it back, even then. It was only when the body was found three days later that the parents realised that their beloved daughter had skipped the event to walk towards death.
